, age 45 is a pumper for U.S. Steel Mining Co. Mike has 25 years of mining experience and is certified as a mine foreman, fireboss, electrician, shotfirer, and EMT.  He is a member of the No. 50 mine rescue team.


GregNeil receives the second place trophy.  Greg receives the second place trophy from Director Conaway.

Gregory Neil,
age 30, is the Safety Directory for Independence Coal Co. Greg has six year of mining experience and holds certificates for  mine foreman, belt examiner, shot firer, gas testing instructor, 80 and 40 hour instructor and several other certifications. Greg is also a member of the Elk Rum Coal Co. mine rescue team. He is also a Minister of the Chapmanville First Church of Christ.

WayneStafford receives the third place trophy from Director Conaway. Robert receives the third place trophy from Director Conaway.

Robert Stafford,
age 47 is a longwall utilityman at the Harris mine of Eastern Associated coal Corp.  He has 27 years of mining experience ans is certifed as a mine foreman, fireboss, EMT, shot firer and first aid instructor.  He has been actively involved in mine rescue and first aid for 23 years.
