2007 Barton B. Lay, Jr. Milestones of Safety Award

The foremost award in West Virginia mine safety for 2007 was presented to the employees of Consolidation Coal Company, Robinson Run No. 95 mine.   The Robinson Run Mine is located in Harrison County. This facility employs approximately 519 salaried and hourly employees working three shifts. 

Through the implementation an continual improvement of a very visible and highly successful safety program and, through the cooperative spirit displayed and practiced by all employees, the Robinson Run No. 95 mine  has achieved the balance of production coupled with safety to which all mining operations should aspire.

The working environment created and maintained by the entire work force at the Robinson Run No. 95 mine represents the highest standards of the Mountaineer Guardian Awards Program and of the West Virginia Mining industry.
